Scoring
How the Kaabil Score works
Kaabil Score is our own measure of resume health, from 0 to 100, not a rank from Workday or Greenhouse. Three parts add up in the open, so you always see the weakest one and exactly what to fix.
The three parts
What the score measures
Each part is worth points; together they make 55, scaled to 100.
Parse · 25 points
Parse / searchability
Contact details in the body of the page (8), Experience, Education and Skills headings (9), dates written the same way with month and year (5), and a single column layout (3). Recruiters search the fields software pulls out, so a field it can’t read is one nobody finds.
Impact · 15 points
Impact
What a recruiter takes in on a quick skim: bullets that show a measurable result (9) and bullets that start with what you did (6). A result is a number, such as money, time saved, people, volume or a percentage. Rewording alone won’t move it.
Tenure · 15 points
Tenure
With no job attached, how many of your roles have dates software can read, because a timeline is what it pulls out. Against a job, your months of work compared with the years it asks for. Overlapping jobs aren’t counted twice.
Separate from the score
Job match
When you compare your resume with a job, Kaabil shows how well your title and skills match that posting. It sits beside your Kaabil Score, not inside it, so your score stays the same whichever job you look at.
Score FAQ
- Is Kaabil Score the same as an ATS vendor score?
- No. It is our own measure of resume health. Workday, Greenhouse and Lever don't give candidates a score. We measure what we can see in your resume (whether software can read it, whether your bullets show results, whether your timeline is dated) and show each part so you can fix the weak one.
- Where does job match fit in?
- Job match is separate. When you compare your resume with a job, Kaabil shows how well your title and skills match that posting. Your Kaabil Score doesn't change with the job you look at.
- Will a fancy template tank Parse?
- Parse rewards contact details in the body, standard section headings, dates written the same way, and a one column layout. Sidebar designs still download fine; they just earn a few fewer Parse points.
- Can I see a score without signing up?
- Yes. Upload a PDF on the free check. Creating a saved resume and tailoring to live jobs needs an account.
